Hi, I’m Joanne! I started playing Quadball in 2010 (part of the first generation of Quadball athletes to play in college). Over the past 10 years, as I’ve moved states (and countries!), one thing that’s remained consistent in my life is a connection to the Quadball community.
Little did I anticipate that my Quadball journey would shape my career trajectory towards movement. I’m a ACE Certified personal trainer and Fascial Stretch Therapist based in Toronto, Canada. And yes, I still lace up for competitive Quadball matches!
In recent years, my passion for Quadball and mission to help others gain strength through training began to align as Quadball players began seeking me out for training support. This isn’t surprising, because unlike other recreational sports, it can be challenging to transition into Quadball and understand how to train effectively. With a broad spectrum of fitness backgrounds—from individuals who have never lifted a weight to those who lift regularly—and considering the intensity of Quadball, injury prevention becomes paramount.
As the sport continues to mature and grow worldwide, so do the needs of our players. My goal as The Quadball Coach is to educate, coach and inspire players in the intersection of joy, peak performance and injury prevention.
